Swipe Files Will Never Work For You
Whether you know the term “swipe file” or “swipe copy” or not, you’ve probably still been tempted by (or purchased) them. A swipe file is when a marketer advertises to you that they will give you the exact templates they used in their amazing result.
You’ll see them under headlines like “Steal my email sequence that made $500,000 in three days!” or “Swipe my funnel that’s made me a million dollars this year.”
Purchasing these swipe files seems like a slam dunk!
Who wouldn’t want to be handed every piece already done to just turn on and make millions?
There’s no such thing as one-size-fits-all marketing. That exact funnel may have made them money, but that doesn’t mean it will make you money. There’s too many factors that go into creating a great marketing strategy. There’s what you offer, who your audience is, who you are, and more.
The only marketing strategy that will get you stellar results is one that’s customized to you.
“The only marketing strategy that will get you stellar results is one that’s customized to you.”
Swipe files can have a place, but you have to know how to use them.
If you buy a swipe file of emails, you have to understand how and why those emails work so that you can modify them for you and your business. If you just need a basic framework to get you started so you aren’t staring at the blank page, maybe that swipe file is worth it. But by the time you finish making it your voice and tone, I’ll bet there’s no words left from the original file you purchased.
A swipe file can also mean when you see things that inspire you and give you ideas for your business and you save them in a file to reference for getting your creativity flowing. That’s a great way to use swipes!
But this is why I don’t sell templates and swipe files.
My gift is in listening to you tell me about your business and goals and being able to put that into a completely custom strategy that best fits you.
Maybe one day I’ll find a way to put together templates that I think you can get real results from but at this point I don’t see any way that you can purchase swipe files that aren’t going to be a let-down.
So my expert opinion is to save your money on the swipe files and book a time to talk with me about your business, your plans, your goals, and where marketing is tripping you up. In the long run you’ll never beat custom strategy and a strategy that works is worth the price tag while spending $10 here and $37 there on things that don’t work is not.
